January 31: Preaching at Warat

Brethren Weny Arca and Jun Antonio are the hardworking preachers of our brethren at Warat church of Christ. This day we were able to work with them in proclaiming the pure gospel of Christ to our brethren and friends at Warat. Brother Geronimo Ganela taught about "Identifying the Tree by its Fruits" and brother Rody Gumpad about "If We Are: (In Christ/ Outside Christ)". Both are very good lessons and made great impact on teaching the importance of being in Christ and abiding in Him. The result was two (2) souls that were baptized into Christ.

January 31: Preaching at Aquib, Piat

Preaching at Aquib is another very encouraging experience for us all. We were very surpri sed at how the people here are accepting the gospel of our Lord Jesus because this place is known as a Catholic territory and this is the place where Our Lady of Piat is found (Catholics say that it is miraculous) but we can clearly see in this experience that we had that the people of God is found everywhere and God's words are really very sharp (Hebrews 4:12). Brother Rody Gumpad taught again very nice lessons about "God Has Spoken" and "The Members of the Original Church of Christ". The lessons were explained very clear and the words of our Lord Jesus again showed its power for while I was leading the invitation song four (4) souls stepped forward, confessed Christ, and expressed their desire to be baptized into Christ. However, one of the four has decided not to be immersed yet because he is presently suffering from German Measles but another young boy approached their preacher (brother Dennis Yuson) and said that he wanted to be baptized into Christ also and receive the salvation of his soul.

January 29: Bible Study at Capadeco, Gonzaga

The brethren at Capadeco, Gonzaga sent us another invitation to be with them and to study the bible with them. Inspired by the words of Christ in Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature", we decided to go and study with them. Brethren who cooperated for the advancement of the gospel of Christ in this trip are Rody Gumpad, Tessie Gumpad, Rossie Respicio, Florendo Respicio, Jerome Forelo, Jun Gumpad, Mark Daquioag, Robert Respicio, Dennis Yuson, Emer Yuson, Gerald Ganela, Jerry Soliva, Manny Pader, Macky Miguel, David Malupeng, Junfour Ganela, Joeben Jacobo, Fidelfin Miranda Jr, and Mario Ramiscal. We left home at around 7:00 in the morning and arrived at the place 10:30 in the morning. Brother Alex Lagat, thei preacher, and the brethren met us with warm and sweet smiles in their faces and excitement in their eyes. The fellow preachers, though not given time to teach because of limited time, did their very best to encourage the brethren by approaching them; we also took turns in leading songs. Brother Rody taught very nice lessons which gave a very good insight of the bible and the significance of salvation in our lives. After the lesson we again extended the invitation and the Lord's words showed its power again for 17 souls stepped forward, confessed Christ and desired to be baptized into Christ (the youngest among the 17 is 12 years old and the oldest is 75 years old). Glory to God for this wonderful harvest of souls.

The lesson was very well explained and easily understood by the visitors because while the invitation song was being sung 10 souls went forward, confessed Christ as the Son of God and our Savior, and they expressed their desire to be baptized. After I lead the closing prayer we immediately took them to the river and they were baptized into Christ.

January 22: Gospel meeting at Maddela, Quirino

Your humble servant and fellow preachers met at the home of brother Rody Gumpad to travel together to Maddela, Quirino and attend the gospel meeting of our brethren. I rode with brother Rody's car and we took turns in driving. We left Tuguegarao 7:00 in the morning and arrived at Maddela 10:30 in the morning. We were welcomed by warm smiles and handshakes from our brethren and friends in the area. The meeting was a very encouraging one with brother Willie Pastor preaching first about "Know the Truth (John 8:31-32)" followed by brotherRosendo Gumpad about "The Great Calling (2 Thessalonians 2:14)". After pausing for a short lunch the meeting was resumed and I preached about "Thy Will Be Done (Matthew 6:10)" and our last speaker was brother Rody Gumpad with the lesson "Why Many Could Not Reach Heaven?". The brethren and friends were very attentive and they tried to digest evry bit of informations given to them; the result was 10 souls that came forward and confessed Christ. 9 of the 10 souls we took to the river to be baptized and the other 1 restored into Christ. After the baptism another man approached us and said that he wanted to repent of his sins and desired to be restored into Christ; therefore we have a total of 2 restorations and 9 baptisms for this day. All glory and praise we give to the Lord. Fellow preachers that participated in this preaching engagement are Rody Gumpad, Jun Gumpad, Mark Daquioag, Jonathan Tango, Geronimo Ganela, Dennis Yuson, Emer Yuson, Jerry Soliva, Manny Pader, Robert Pader, David Malupeng, Cornelio Abig, Macky Miguel, Rogelio; sisters Tessie Gumpad and Edna Reyes went with us as well.
